Pirongia Pure Bacon is a traditionally cured bacon with a true New Zealand flavour, often described as reminiscent of how bacon used to taste. Succulent and smokey with a hint of salted caramel and manuka.
I was asked to redesign Pirongia Bacon’s logo to be more appealing to current markets whilst retaining the brand colour palette for continued shelf recognition. For inspiration I looked at vintage labelling and the Pirongia mountainscape. A distressed stamp effect was used to add character to the brand and heritage style fonts were selected to communicate the bacon’s traditional processing techniques. The client loved the idea of incorporating a distinctly Kiwi koru in the first initial.
